Kolbaba; Washingtonians Winning Streak Gives Him National Attention

(October 23, 2017) - Derek Kolbaba, a young gun bull rider from Walla Walla, Washington, has steadily been making himself a well known name in the rodeo world which continued this week a he picked up a Round 1 win in the Professional Bull Rider's (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride, presented by Wrangler, at SAP Center.

This win places Kolbaba number one in the PBR world standings which is split between 5 American competitors and 5 Brazilian competitors. Kolbaba enters the next event with a 102.5 point lead on Brazilian Eduardo Aparecido (PBR World Standings).

Kolbaba's 2017 bull riding season is not limited to just the PBR arena, but he is also a competitor with the Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association. In Mid-July Kolbaba was matched with the unridden bull "Outlaw" from Bridwell Pro Rodeo at the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo. In what seems like a tale spun for Hollywood, Kolbaba rode the unridden bull for 88 points to set a new arena record at his hometown rodeo.
